Why Injustice

What a day it will be when the injustice of this world is over. So many are hurting today because someone took advantage of them; needless suffering it is. Why do people treat other people so? We often wonder about this, but the truth is that man's heart is not right. It needs fixing, not a repair. Fixing the heart of man is a hopeless task, because there is no solution to the problem from man's efforts. The only way to fix the heart of man is with a new one. But, who wants their heart fixed anyway? That is even a more disturbing problem. Too often man sees his way as right.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. Proverbs 12:15

Because of the selfish nature of man, he grabs for himself. No one is more important than he is, "so I better outwit anyone and everyone I can," is his rationale. Let the other guy suffer or be without. "I want" this for myself. The more I have, the more important I will be and more powerful I will be. Others will think I am smart because I have gained so much. This logic is repeated day after day and the groans of people ascend up to God, who hears their cry. In his mind, man thinks he is getting by with his actions. Some accept it as business; no matter the reasoning. Man, in his greed, fills his coffers from the resources of others.

Have you ever thought that all anyone has possession of is really not theirs? The truth is, no one owns anything. The Almighty Creator God owns it all. He only allows man to use His possessions. Man does not seem to know he is a steward. He must one day give an account unto God for what he has done with God's property and resources. This is going to be a very sobering time for man, when all of his life is exposed. There will be no secret hidden from Him.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:14

People are discriminated against because of race, class, education and social level. We were all made in the image of God. No one is more important than another. Life is a gift from our Creator and no one has the right to infringe upon the rights of others. This is all vanity when one will lose all they have ill gained. There are many reasons why some people are poor and others have wealth. God does bless people with prosperity who faithfully and wisely labor. A lack of prosperity is often because of poor management, laziness and unwise decisions. Yet, God does not bless all of us alike. Some have more talents, more abilities, more opportunities. BUT IT IS HOW WE USE WHAT HE GIVES US that will be the issue.

In business there is a profit, one that is fair to both the customer and the business owner. But, unfair profits are wrong. When needed items are priced high and people who need those products are struggling to make a living, it is not right. God put the resources in the earth for all of mankind, not just some. He also gifted man so he could develop those resources for the good of the human family. But, man has grabbed these and now controls them to satisfy mainly his own greed. Without knowing it man is cutting his own throat, thinking he is a big success.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 16:25

Injustice is everywhere. It is not just in business. It is in the court system. It is in the treatment of others. Pride is the sin of man. "I am important and I have my rights." But who made one man more important than another? Who decided they had more rights than another? It is that selfish proud heart of man. I understand that there has to be authority and power with certain ones. But, all authority and power is delegated from God. God is the source of all authority and power. He does delegate it to men and angels. However, this is not to be abused. Those in authority are to use it with humility. The person with authority or power, is not to exercise the use of it as they themselves were some god. No, humility is the key to using authority, realizing they are accountable to their Maker and must not abuse the position they are in. God puts some in places of authority to help others or bless others. God is giving them a privilege to be His minister to the well being of people. It is not his intention for them to rule as some god who is better than those they are to serve. Maybe, it is because of this that the scriptures say,

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. Mark 10:31

Consider how different this world is, and the world to come. In the world to come, believers will live in humility, rejoicing, praising and giving thanks to the Holy and Righteous One. Our salvation had nothing to do with what we did, but of what Christ Jesus did for us. It will be His scars that are visibly revealing. He is the One who paid for our sin.

Men have talents and abilities that they did not develop. These talents and abilities are gifts from our Creator. So that we all might know and serve God in the places, and with the capacity, He desires. Again, I say, man's heart is rebelling, and in his arrogance, he takes credit for his gifts and misuses them against his fellow man. This is even true with believers.

Our churches are filled with men and women who pride themselves on their spirituality. Anyone who thinks they are more spiritual than someone else, is vastly deceived. Church leaders are all servants. They are to serve God. They are in a position to serve others and not to lord over them. Even in the place where it should be demonstrated that all people are important, injustice exists. Our churches have become too political, instead of a body of people in humility, being led by the Holy Spirit. God have mercy on us!

Why is it that there is so much injustice in the world? Man is a sinner in rebellion against God. The Holy Word of God states that man is a spiritually blind creature whose understanding is darkened, Even those who are saved, are often not the spirit-filled persons they should be. Therefore, the self-centeredness of man rules his heart. He wants to tell someone else what to do, because he is important. But, here is what the Lord says,

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:6-10

God wants to bless people. He will bless us if we will humble ourselves and serve Him in humility. At least in the church, there should not be any injustice toward other people. Our churches should be places where the people are being trained to live godly and promote godliness in the community and nation, learning to respect one another.

How do you treat others? How do you use any authority you may have been given? Injustice is a great sin. Live humbly before God and among men. Then God promises to exalt and bless.

Heavenly Father, we pray for all of those who have experienced any of the many injustices in the world. We await your return to bring judgment, Father in accordance with your mighty will. Amen. Preacher
