God has allowed men to rule the nations of the world by human wisdom. This has not been his will, but he has allowed this. God offers man wisdom through his Word, but man does not seek to live by what God says, but rather by what he thinks.

Do you remember that God was Israel's God in the day of the judges when Samuel was the judge? All the other nations had kings. But the people of Israel began to want a king like the other nations. This hurt Samuel's feelings, but God told him it was not him they didn't want, but it was God.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. 1 Samuel 8:4-20

So God gave the people their desire.

God is allowing man to see he cannot rule successfully without Him. And yet, few would admit their administration were failures. Men like the Pharaohs of Egypt and Nebuchadnezzar thought themselves to be gods who should be worshiped. The coming Antichrist of the end time tribulation will again be such a man and he will demand to be worshiped.

The nations of the world have been led by those who generally have not been spiritual men or women. History shows the leaders of nations have always been men and women of selfishness and greed. Many of these leaders of conquest have tried to enlarge and enrich themselves or their countries in the name of their god or gods which are nothing more than idols. And the wonder of this is the idols are mere lifeless objects whether it is the sun, moon or a snake.

Spiritual

Even leaders who are believers in God in the Old Testament before Jesus Christ were few and most were nominal in their faith if they were true believers. Those in the New Testament who say they are believers are also few and most of them not very spiritual. Outside of Israel there were even fewer who were true believers in the God of heaven. In the days of King Solomon it is thought that the Queen of Sheba became a believer in Israel's God. But there were few others. There have been very few men like King David of the Old Testament who is said was a man after God's own heart. None of the kings of the ten tribes of the northern kingdom were spiritual men and only some of those in the two tribes of the southern kingdom were true men of God.

Now many world leaders have recognized there is a God, but their allegiance to him has been nil. Few there has been who thought there was no God, but practically all have lived with the rule of no God for me. Once in power they willing or unwilling have felt they had to answer to no one. In our own country, most of our leaders, from the local to the highest office in the nation, are members of some church or religion. Many of our leaders belong to cults which is a religion that does not accept Jesus Christ as God in human flesh. True Christianity knows that is who Jesus is. Jesus is God who took a human nature and a human body to live among men and then die for the sins of the world. No one can be save apart from believing this to be true. Many believe this is true, but have never trusted him as their own savior.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11

Here in our own country our leaders past a law in 1962 that outlawed prayer in the public schools and in 1963 reading the Bible was also prohibited. Think about this folks. When our leaders in the twentieth century who live in a nation that was founded on the principles of those taught in the Bible are willing to impose such laws it shows clearly man rejecting God's wisdom and governing by man's wisdom. It reveals the enslavement of a nation to secularism and a rejection of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It means the same as that which Jesus told the Jews of his day.

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. John 5:40

We have had Presidents who were Baptists, Quaker, Methodist, Episcopalian, Catholic, Deist and Lord only knows what else and hardly any were very spiritual. Even the Baptist who are usually regarded at Bible believing people were often heard cussing and using profanity. And these were minor compared to some other things they were noted for.

Educated

The most educated and intelligent have generally been selected as the leaders. Often for national offices it has been thought that those who were educated at Harvard had the best education and therefore were capable of the jobs they were pursuing. Other schools of high profile of learning are also sought. Education is now the requirement for leadership. Integrity, morals, true or real faith are not important anymore. Common sense has long been outdated in our country. In fact if someone mentions Jesus or has a strong belief in the Lord and the Bible, they will be criticized and ridiculed, even n our own country.

Many times it is the most brutal who rise to power. Many leaders of the past and in the present have been and are wicked men and women. Just glance around at the leaders of the nations of the world today and notice how many are tyrants, despots and dictators. They are ruling by military force and fear of the state retaliating against them by police force. These leaders think they deserve mansions or palaces to live with fashionable clothing and adornments. Their lavish lifestyle they feel is to be supported by the people they rule over or have enslaved by force.

Satan is the source of these kind of leaders. We must remember he is the Ruler of this world. He gives certain leaders power, but every time it finally leads to the downfall of that leader who is deceived by Satan. Paul said he is the Prince of the power of the air in Ephesians 2:2. Satan took the rulership of this world from Adam when he disobeyed God in the garden of Eden. Later Satan offered the kingdom of the world to Christ when he tempted him in the wilderness in Matthew chapter four. The rulers Satan puts in charge of the nations are proud, arrogant and godliness leaders that impose their programs, and policies upon the helpless people. Look at some of the leaders of the twentieth century. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, the Emperor of Japan, Castro, Putin, Kadofi, Ketmia, Saddam Hausen,...etc....

These men and others are war mongrels. They want power, more power and they want to conquer others. Some of them hate Christianity and they want people to follow their religious beliefs whatever they maybe. Even in our own country when a leader says they are Christian and they pass or help pass legislation that is anti God or anti Bible it shows how shallow their faith is. We would encourage a reading of the entire second chapter of James.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:17

The Coming Ruler

There is coming a ruler who is going to take over all the nations of the world. This coming ruler is going to reign in righteousness. There will be no wicked ruler ever ruling again. He is going to bound Satan in the bottomless pit for a thousand years. This supreme ruler is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. He will conquer all the nations just by the word of his mouth. No unsaved man or woman will enter into his kingdom. It will be the most prosperous time the world has ever known. It will be a time when there will be no war and all instruments of war will be made into tools to grow crops. There will not be sinful programs or policies forced upon the citizens of this kingdom. Sinful activities will not be carried out by any of the people. What a different world to live in when this ruler who is Faith and True arives.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. Revelation 19:11-19

Before this ruler comes there must first be the rapture or catching away of the true church of Jesus Christ. Only born again believers will be removed suddenly from this world and caught up to be with the Lord. Then there will follow a seven year tribulation period, the worst the world has ever known, Jesus said. Just before man annihilates himself Jesus will return from Heaven with all the church saints and the war of Armageddon will be fought and then the judgment of all the nations will take place. At that time all the unsaved of the world will be killed and only believers will enter into Christ's kingdom of one thousand years.

What can we do when we have those in power over us who lead as they do? We are told to pray for them and to obey the laws of the land as long as they do not conflict with God's laws. Remember, all the Apostles had to live under the rulership of wicked Nero and even Jesus lived in the days of Roman authority.

Heavenly Father, remember your people living under the leaders who hate your name and your son Jesus Christ. Give us wisdom and help us to promote the gospel of our Savior that many might be saved before it is too late. I pray in Jesus name. Amen! Preacher
