And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.  Matthew 18:9

Did you know there is something worse than hell?  You may be surprised to learn this, but there truly is.  So I want to discuss this with you in this message. 

From what most people know, or have heard about hell, we believe that it would have to be the most awful place for anyone to end up. The Bible speaks clearly of hell as a horrible place of suffering, where multitudes of unsaved men and women go.

These “multitudes” can be people from our own country as well as from any one of the many nations abroad, as the following scripture clearly states;

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psalm 9:17

Peoples Fate

There are currently 54 Muslin nations in the world, and more are likely to become Muslim nations soon.  Picture all of these nations going down into hell for eternity because they do not believe in Jesus Christ.  Of course this will be the fate of all peoples who do not accept Jesus as their Savior.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  1 John 2:22-23

It is plain and certain from scripture that there is a place of everlasting punishment. It is awfully described as the LAKE OF FIRE, the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone. It will truly be HELL. 

So let’s look at this a little further by reading, and understanding the scope of these following scriptures.

The Antichrist & False Prophet

Along with the unsaved, the Antichrist and the False Prophet will be in Hell.

Consider what Jesus has the Apostle John to write in

Revelation; And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Revelation 19:20

Satan in Hell

Consider Satan’s final destination;

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. ... And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10-15

All Unsaved People in Hell

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world....  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  Matthew 13:39-40, 42 

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  Matthew 25:41

Wicked Angels in Hell

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;  2 Peter 2:4

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  Jude 6

Yes, my friend the Bible teaches us the horrors of the Lake of Fire, and that it was prepared for the devil and his angels. Even so, it clearly says the wicked, meaning the unsaved of all ages, will also be cast there.

Coming Full Circle

In Revelation, the last book of the Bible, God reveals that He will destroy this present earth and the heavens to usher in the eternal state by creating a new heaven and a new earth. At that time, He will restore full fellowship with redeemed mankind, while the unredeemed will have been judged unworthy and cast into the lake of fire.

Also, at this time the curse of sin will be done away with. There will be no more sin, sorrow, sickness, death, or pain. God will dwell with the redeemed, and they shall be His sons;

Thus we Come Full Circle:

• God created us to have fellowship with Him
• Man sinned, breaking that fellowship
• God restores that fellowship fully in the eternal state

To go through life achieving everything only to die separated from God for eternity would be worse than futile! But, for those of us who believe in God we not only have a way to have eternal bliss, but we can also achieve a life on earth that is satisfying and meaningful.

Worse Than Hell

So what can possibly be worse than being thrown into the lake of Fire? To be eternally separated from a loving God! A God who paid for all your sins, and offered the free gift of salvation that you did not accept. In Hell you are not only separated from God but in a place of no hope, no mercy, no one to love you, no friends, only darkness! and the crying of weeping, moaning people all around you.  But even worse than that, knowing you are there because you would not repent of your sin and accept JESUS as your Savior. Yes, the souls that are in Hell forever are there because of their own unwise choices! My friend, this will make you even more miserable as you remember over, and over again all the opportunities you had to hear the gospel, BUT rejected it!

In this life God blesses, and blesses the unsaved by showing his love for them, and by giving them ample time to repent. He wants them to know of his goodness. But once the unsaved pass from this life, the next place of existence will be void of him and his blessings. All of this because you did not want him! You were deceived. This is what sin does. It blinds, and deceives people.  

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Ephesians 4:18

Always be wary of being deceived. My friends this life is the only heaven the wicked or (unsaved) are ever going to experience. Please don’t be part of this group. The moment they die, they will be like the rich man in Luke 16 who as soon as he had died, he lifted up his eyes to find himself in torments - HELL! Why would anyone be so unwise? 

Why do so many live unsaved lives without ever turning to God? Because man is a sinner and the appetites of the flesh demand to be satisfied. So man rushes along searching everywhere into all kinds of avenues hoping to find what will bring peace and fulfillment, yet he never does. A great biblical example of this is Solomon;

Solomon Tried Everything

I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.  I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it?  I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.  I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.  So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.  And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labor: and this was my portion of all my labor.  Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.  Ecclesiastes 2:1-11

Solomon was a man who had, or could have had everything, and yet it did not satisfy him. He had 700 hundred wives and 300 hundred concubines. He had more wealth than anyone has ever had, and was known as the wisest of men. Yet, he concluded all was vanity, or emptiness. This is the ongoing truth concerning the “Flesh,” “Things” will not give you what you need. You and I were made for God, and until we find our peace with him we will never be satisfied. When one leaves this world without Jesus in their heart, they are forever separated from the ONLY ONE who could have given them everything they needed.

What will be worse than Hell, you may ask? Being separated from God forever, my friend! In light of this we must always remember that this was never to be God’s will for his people. This is your choice, and you alone will make it. 

Sadly, people never think of the scum, foulness, filth, trash, and stench that fill’s Hell, a godless place. Here there’s NO relief from the torments of body, soul and spirit. My friend, please make the right choice today!

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving us and providing a Savior in your only Son Jesus. I pray that this day, the many unsaved people will see their need for Christ. Amen. “Loving the Savior” Preacher
