Vengenance Is Mine
When I sharpen my lightning sword and execute judgment, I take vengeance on my enemies and pay back those who hate me. I’ll make my arrows drunk with blood, my sword will gorge itself on flesh, Feasting on slain and captive alike, the proud and vain enemy corpses. Deuteronomy 32:41-42
In this scripture from Deuteronomy we find the words sung by Moses in his song of praise to God after God delivered him and the children of Israel from the Egyptian Pharaoh. It was this Pharaoh who had tried to destroy Moses and his army in the Red Sea.
After something as bad as this happening, I dare say most of us would try to seek revenge upon someone as awful as Pharaoh, but we see Moses did not. He just wanted to sing praises to God for delivering him and the children of Israel from what most certainly would have been destruction and death.
Have you ever tried to seek revenge on someone who you feel has wronged you or someone you love? I believe all of us have at one time or another in our lives. So, let’s take a look at what God says about vengeance, and whenever it is necessary who should inflict this punishment.
God has promised that HE will deal with all of His enemies. He doesn’t need you or me, my friend. He can take care of them all as He sees fit, and when. Who are God’s enemies you ask; all those who are unsaved and die in their sin. When you think about how many people down through the years that have rejected God by living evil, wicked lives we realize just how many enemies God really does have.
We especially see this in our godless society today. By listening to the news, or watching T.V. we see countless numbers of murders, robberies, sexual predators, child trafficking or enslavement, destruction of property, identity theft, and drug dealing just to name a few. And let’s never forget abortion!! It takes a godless society such as we have today to continue in the 1.4 million abortions that are currently being performed yearly in our country. These types of things are a curse on society in every possible way.
They are carried out by people and societies living godless lives, never fearing any consequences from others, the law, or God. It is unreal how so many people have absolutely no fear of God!
The Apostle Paul writes;
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Rom. 12:19
How sad it will be for those who do not fear God when they meet Him one day! God is not going to overlook even one person who was wicked enough to reject His Son. God hates sin but He loves sinners. Still, He only gives sinners a certain amount of time to repent of their sin and receive the cleansing blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to wash them from their guilt and condemnation.
GRACE IS LIMITED
God=s grace is limited. It is limited to this lifetime we have on earth. None of us knows when we will die so it is very important at our earliest age to know about salvation, and that we receive this by trusting in Jesus as our Savior.
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the
day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2
Here are some statistics I found the other day about dying;
⦁ Every second two people die
⦁ Every minute 106 people die
⦁ Every hour 6, 316 people die
⦁ Every day 151, 600 people die
⦁ Every year 55.3 million people die
God's Word says we all are going to die one day
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
There is no way to escape this appointment God has planned for all of us. First responder's cannot help you on that day, and neither will any medicine or doctor be of any help to you on that day God has appointed for you to die. The Grim Reaper is going to come and you have no weapon with which to stop him. Let=s face it, we are all going to die! Are you ready?
The wise person will be ready when that day comes and the only way to be ready is by repenting of our sin and trusting Jesus as our personal Savior.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1John 5:12
This is what the scriptures tell us and many more just like it;
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18
The most blessed person in this world is that person whose sins are forgiven and under the blood of Jesus. They are the richest people and the most favored people by God Himself. There will never be any charges against any of us whose sins are washed away by the blood of the Savior!
Consider these great promises of God;
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isaiah 43:25
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Isaiah 44:22
Praise God I am no longer guilty, I am forgiven, I am saved and I know it.
JUDGMENT DAY
When we as the redeemed of the Lord stand before the Judge of the earth (Jesus Christ) we will be examined to see if we have earned any rewards for serving the Lord while we were here on earth. Some will receive many rewards. But, many may not even get one reward because they did not live and serve the Lord as they should have. Still, at least they are saved.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Cor. 5:10
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man=s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1 Cor. 3:13-15
We see in the book of Revelation in the fifteenth chapter, that the last seven plagues containing the wrath of God will be directed upon the earth dwellers of the tribulation. These plagues will destroy the followers of the Anti-christ and prepare the world for the return of Jesus who will set up His one thousand year reign.
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. Revelation 15:1
THE LAST JUDGMENT
At the end of Christ=s one thousand year reign the final and last judgment of men and angels will be held. At this judgment for all the unsaved who are Christ rejecter's, their judgment will be terrifying beyond the description of words. Every person at the Great White Throne Judgment is lost and guilty before Holy God.
There will be no pardons, no not even one. Can you imagine standing before Holy God with all of your sins? There is no place to go where you could hide. He knows every secret thought, word and deed and for all of them now you are about to be cast into a Lake of Fire and Brimstone to spend eternity! I can almost hear their screams and see the fear upon the faces when their eternal doom is sealed.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:11-15
As people stand that day before the Holy Judge, no doubt their mind will race back and think of all the opportunities they had to be saved that they did not take. Oh, how they are going to regret their stupidity when they realize they can blame no one but themselves. From the words of Jesus himself, this will be the plight of most people. Why? Because people are so consumed with this life until they fail to prepare for that which is eternal.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14
There are many people who think there is no God, but one day they will be standing there in front of him and find out to late how deceived they were. God said He would take vengeance upon His enemies and the day has finally arrived! All His enemies, the unsaved, Christ rejecter's, and haters in this world will finally be eternally punished in the lake that burns with fire.
How about my reader, are you ready to meet the Lord God Almighty! If you are not saved please try to understand this! Eternity is forever in the Lake of Fire! If you don’t know him, call upon the name of Jesus today!
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us your Son to be our Savior. We can never thank you, or praise you enough for the gift of eternal life. Oh, Father, help us to tell the ole story of your love, mercy and grace so we can help the lost find their way to You! I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
